I left my nerves at the door when I visited Reverse Medical Spa to interview owner Sandra Karley. We sat in comfortable chairs in the lobby with light and relaxing background music. She chilling in her scrubs, me in my fashionista garb feeling totally overdressed. I suddenly wished I had a soft robe and an appointment for a 90 minute massage.
Open since 2005, this Shawnee medical spa is all about caring for the client and developing a long-term relationship. Sandra Karley, RN and owner, was once busy treating potentially fatal wounds in an ER and saving lives. Her medical spa business gave her the opportunity to put her many degrees to use, and still care for others to help make them feel happier about themselves.
To get through the turbulent economic times Sandra says she survived by maintaining the philosophy of being honest, ethical and caring. Sandra did what many businesses forget to do….take care of the customers they have. She relied on her periodic newsletter to give her loyal clients news, discounts and other irresistible offers. Subscribers receive a monthly bargain on a variety of services offered by the spa. A LARGE variety, by the way. Waxing, facials, Botox, fillers, laser hair removal, peels, spray tan, just to name a few.

Don’t expect the drive-thru facials and other quickie services at Reverse Medical Spa. Sandra has trained each of her staff members to take the time to listen to each and every client, get to know them and help them make the best choices. After all…a Microderm MUST take more than 15 minutes and you certainly want someone to take time to get to know you and your skin before they start scrubbing at it!
