Golden Globe Awards 2010 - RED CARPET
I have a confession. The only reason I watch award shows are for the fashion. Honestly, I haven't seen 3/4 of the the shows or movies mentioned by presenters and some celebs just annoy me. But its the fashion that makes my heart flutter.  Probably because one of my biggest dreams is to walk the red carpet or runway in a gorgeous couture number after a day spent primping. But aside from my vanity and desires, I adore seeing what trends are holding top billing.

The celebs did not disappoint even with less then glam weather conditions. The look was definitely Hollywood and fabulously feminine. I was so inspired, I even went and slathered on some sunless tanner.  There were a few train wrecks (ahem, Mariah and her boobilicous presence) but even they couldn't overshadow the oh so yummy fashion confections worn by so many.

Here are a few of the award winning looks from last night.

Purple Was Royally Haute
Purple was making quite a statement on the red carpet. From delicate lilacs to more jewel toned hues, purple is a color family that has something for everyone. No matter your skin or hair color, purple really does make an impression when worn correctly.

Twinkle,Twinkle Little Gown
What would a red carpet be without glittery gowns.  There were so many AMAZING gowns fitting this trend, I could fill a whole post with just pictures of them. The number one rule with this look, is keep accessories to a minimum!  Highly embellished gowns are like appetizers and a main course all in one, no need to add any more.

Details,Simply Details
Sometimes the biggest impact can come from the most unexpected of places.  I have always been a fan of texture, creative presentation, and small details.  You don't need to be dripping with jewels to stand out from the crowd. All you need is a GORGEOUS, AWE-INSPIRING gown that simply just says "couture". Whether you choose a bodice with interesting draping, a antique broach at the waist, or focus solely on being perfectly tailored, this look NEVER goes out of style and is always glamorous.

Whatever trend you fancy, remember its all about attitude, if you feel marvelous others will think so too. (Within reason, and I am talking to you AGAIN Mariah!)
