I don’t even know what to say about this so I’ll just post the link and photo and you can be the judge of how high the crazy meter reads on this one.

I think Amazon truly does sell everything

Loving what Natalie Portman chose for her Golden Globe dress. She worked with that baby bump and basically rocked the bump on the red carpet! While I agree with @Refinery on Twitter that it resemmbles a Valentine Card, the shape is great. Just not the color. But it’s Natalie and I just can’t say anything bad about her.
Jane…I love this color! Not sure about the high slit, but whatever. If you’ve got it, werk it I guess
The cinderella shoes definitely say “hot mama”!!

Oh the fabrics flowing down the red carpet that I long to touch! Mostly misses this year? I don’t think so. I can’t even pick my favorite top three at this moment, there are so many beautiful dresses so beautifully fitted to each actress. I drool.

More to come!!!

Long ago I made a resolution that has stuck. To never make another new year resolution again. Cuts the guilt right out of the celebration! That doesn’t mean that I don’t have new goals and wishes for the new year. I just don’t have to deal with the fear of failing the typical lofty aspirations many usually set for themselves.
I haven’t quite set anything in stone but I will continue to keep having as much fun as I can with my “work”. I’ll keep trying to have fun with the kids rather than get through another day of getting ready for school, doing homework, getting chores done, getting to practices on time. I’ll try to make myself presentable each day…even if I don’t have to leave the house (ie change out of pjs and comb hair).
What will you set out to do this year? Will you try something new? Will you make your life more simple?
Perhaps you need a jump start…a giggle to start your day. This is often what I get…a total in-your-face moment.
A bit difficult to pass up an opportunity to smile.

Since I found my faux fur Dennis Basso handbag I’ve kept my eye on this fur friendly line from the ring master of the protest-circus at fashion week. Never have I considered being a QVC shopper, but it has happened. It’s not for retired ladies anymore. Check out this faboo reversible coat that is next on my wish list:
First of all it’s plum colored. Fab for winter 2011. The scarf on it’s own is furry, fashionable and so so soft. The price is fantastic for such a beautiful and warm winter coat (about $160 ish). Also is size friendly ranging from XS to 3X.

Fashion week in Pakistan-interesting.

One designer uses Manhattan skyline as inspiration. Some use m0re traditional pieces of the culture as a spring board. Interesting colors…blah blah, less restrictions on cut and shapes…blah blah…..oh and there was a bomb. Fashion Week in Pakistan
Nutty. And I thought it was a crazy time when PETA showed up for Basso’s show.

No doubt the holiday reveler in you will have something slinky and sexy for the holiday fete. Well you’d better make sure that derrière is well suited for the occasion. And by that we mean smooth and sexy under that dress.
Here are my top choices for slenderizing and shaping:
Spanx has a great new product, Slim Cognito Shape-Slip, to give you that lovely silhouette with it’s full slip feature. Retails $98-102. Zoned compression makes this one super-duper shaper! There is also a similar strapless version.
Yummie Tummie sent me their Original Tank some time ago and I probably use it at least 3 times a month. Great under tops and dresses and looks like any other tank or cami you would wear but it has the extra shaping features to smoothe away lumps and bumps. $62-68. Available in several colors and in plus size.
Need a shaper for a plunging neckline dress? Dr. Rey has what you need. Padded bust, tummy control and adjustable straps. In fact the straps can adjust for criss-cross or halter. $44 at BareNecessities.com. Available in black or nude. Order by bra size.
I hope this helps to add the final touches to your fabulous party frock!

For a while now I’ve had feedback from our Haute Market shopping parties that there needs to be more plus-size fashion at the events and available in boutiques. I agree whole heartedly. Yet my next comment is that it’s SO hard to find nice quality plus size clothing that actually flatters the figure rather than hides it.
Having just opened my first boutique, Stiletto, I’m hearing the request for plus sizes even more. My designer friend, a self-described “chubby chick”, (check out Avondale) and I have been scouring the net for fabulous items that go beyond size 14, that come in sizes with an X behind it. My friends it is needle-in-a-haystack! Sad but true.
While we have just a dash of plus size clothing at my store, it is nice quality and flattering. Just yesterday I ordered this fabulous t-shirt that only comes in 1x, 2x and 3x ($22 should be in by next week) Such a bummer because I want one! Do you like it? I love!
If you love it, please share it with others. (there is a handy little share button right below)
I invite you to keep the comments and suggestions coming so that we can bring flattering fashion to more than a size 4.
So whether you are what my dear friend calls herself, a “chubby chick“, or one of the “skinny bitches” (her terms not mine), you deserve to have great style!
I should mention that I think Michael Kors does a nice plus size line available at Macys.

I thank my lucky starts that Dean & Davis Factor.decided to combine their skills and in 1996 to create Smashbox Cosmetics. Photo fabulous makeup!
The Smashbox brothers don’t just create fabulous makeup. Smashbox has its own fabulous collection of tools to make cosmetic application a breeze for photo shoot worthy results at home.
Yes, size matters. Makeup brushes come in a variety of shapes and sizes, each with its own perfected plan for usage. It is important to have the right tools for the job. An electrician wouldn’t use a metal handsaw to cut live wires. Just as you shouldn’t use your blush brush to apply your eyeshadow. Both would have equally shocking results!
My favorite specialized tools are an eyeliner applicator and an angled brow brush. The brow brush hairs are cut at an angle for precise application. I use the Smashbox eyeshadow for my brow color. Two birds with less dollars. It takes a bit of practice to perfect the desired shape for your brow, so start light and fill in darker as needed.
The eyeliner applicator is my second favorite tool. Applying eyeliner is easy if you have a tool to smudge and smooth as needed. If you do a fine line of liner for day, you can later go over top with a lighter line and smudge a bit for a more dramatic night-time look.
Practice (with the right tools) makes perfect!
